Youth Ministry

Presbyterian Youth Collaborative

Providence Presbyterian Church is proud to partner in the Presbyterian Youth Collaborative (PYC), a welcoming, inter-church youth ministry rooted in the grace and love of Jesus Christ. PYC brings together middle and high school students (grades 6–12) from PC(USA) congregations across South Charlotte to grow in faith, build meaningful friendships, and explore their unique call in the world.
Together with Sardis Presbyterian Church, Providence helps support this shared ministry through pastors, staff, and dedicated youth advisors and volunteers. PYC creates a space where every young person is seen, valued, and encouraged to live out their faith authentically. As an Open & Affirming ministry, LGBTQ+ youth are fully welcomed and loved as they are.
While students remain connected to their home congregation at Providence, they are also invited into this larger, vibrant community of faith.
To learn more about weekly gatherings, retreats, service opportunities, and how to get involved, please visit the Presbyterian Youth Collaborative website.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

All Middle and High School Youth meet on Sunday mornings for a time to dive deep into the stories of the Bible, explore the different liturgical seasons of the church, and be in community together. While every morning looks a little different, you will always find friends, snacks, and laughter!

Youth Sunday School for 6-12th Grade
Room 206, CLC 2nd floor
Sunday, September 13, 2026 - Sunday, May 16, 2027

CONFIRMATION

PPC Youth in 8th and 9th grade are invited to take part in the year-long journey of Confirmation. Through a combination of Sunday morning activities, retreats, service projects, and off-campus excursions, Confirmands learn about their Christian faith, the PCUSA tradition, and the world around them. We want youth to be confident in God’s love for them, our love for them, and to know that they belong at PPC.

During the summer, PPC youth participate in longer retreat and service trips described below.

Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference

Middle School Youth travel to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia to participate in the Massanetta Springs Middle School Conference. All rising 5th graders through rising 9th graders are encouraged to join.

Youth Trips

Child and Youth Protection

Child & Youth Protection

As people who seek to live Jesus’ commandment to “let the children come to me” (Matthew 19:14), the members of Providence Presbyterian Church take seriously the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children and youth participating in our activities and programs.

The Child and Youth Protection Policy intends to protect the children in our Church community, the adult volunteers and employees who work with them, and the Church itself. The Policy establishes standards and procedures for:

  • Supervision of and interaction with children and youth
  • Screening and training volunteers and staff
  • Reporting of and responding to suspicious or inappropriate activity

All of our volunteers and paid childcare workers attend a Child and Youth Protection Policy review session, agree to comply by the policy, and undergo a background check before they begin working with our children and youth.
